New course for Autumn 2026!
Broadside are very pleased to start offering the Level 3 Certificate for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry. This is the full eighteen day course designed for people wishing to apply for a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a Close Protection Operative. This intensive programme is designed to develop the practical skills, knowledge and confidence needed to work as a Close Protection Operative both within the UK and internationally.

John Richardson is our Lead Trainer for this, he has 27 years of security experience and has held his CP license for the past nine of those years.
The course covers key areas including conflict management, physical intervention, surveillance awareness, threat detection and the roles and responsibilities of operating in high-risk and high-profile settings.
Delivered in line with current UK legislation and recognised industry standards, the training combines classroom based learning with realistic scenario-based exercises to prepare learners for the demands of this profession.

Entry Requirements: Please read the following carefully:
All learners need to be aged 18 or over.
Must hold a valid (12 months left to run) First Aid Qualification (First Aid at Work Three Day) or (First Response Emergency Care FREC3).
Be able to complete a written English assessment (both reading and writing assessed).
